Gigi Buffon wants to retire at Juventus and be the head coach for USA or China  – Serie A Update

Juventus FC legend and veteran goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, is keen to end his career as a footballer with the Turin giants. The Italian international also revealed his desire to be the head coach for the American or Chinese national team when he retires as a player.

The Italian international came to Juve from the fellow Serie A outfit Parma FC in 2001 and has been a key player in the campaigns for the Bianconeri. The player is under contract until the summer of 2013 and the glove-man believes he is still good to go for another 4-5 years and wishes to stay in the game as a part of La Vecchia Signora.

The 33-year-old has his mind set on his targets after retirement to become a coach. However, the shot stopper is currently training with the Lady Killers in Philadelphia, USA, and claims that he has no intentions of ending his career in America.

The veteran keeper missed out most of the 2010/11 season due to an injury to his back. The absence gave birth to speculations regarding his future at Turin and it was reckoned that Buffon would complete a move out of Turin during the ongoing summer transfer window.

Buffon has been highly connected to the English Premier League outfit Manchester City, and back in Italy, the rival AS Roma outfit were also keen on having the services of the goalkeeper. However, the Italian international kept is loyalty intact with the Old Lady and revealed that he wants to stay at Turin until he retires from the game.

While recently talking to the media, Buffon revealed his future plans and also his desire to stay with the Bianconeri.

"I never thought to come to the USA to end my career and I'll play at Juve for as long as they have confidence in me. In three or four years I have in my head the crazy idea of coaching the United States national team, or the China national team. They would both be great experiences," said the legend.

Buffon is known to be amongst the best goalkeepers of all time and the Brazilian football legend, Pele, named the Italian international in his list of 125 greatest ever living footballers.
