Gianluigi Buffon supports coach Luigi Del Neri Reinstatement

The Serie A outfit, Juventus FC, had been checking their options for a new coach lately but the outfit’s legendary goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon reckoned that Gigi Del Neri should stay at the Old Lady as the season is entering the closing phase and he deserves to supervise the team till the end of the term.

Buffon supported the tactician and appreciated his efforts for Juventus during the current season. The goalkeeper said:

“He should stay in place at least until June. The project at the start of the year was to give him full trust. It's right that he stays until the end of the season. The judgments will only be made at that point, and it's not up to certain players to decide what to do. The Coach must be helped on the pitch - with facts.  Everyone must do their own job, that which they get paid for. Anyway I repeat all the players have respect for Del Neri. Up until the victory against Inter we were talking about a great season.”

Del Neri’s appointment was under serious threats following the recent straight defeats against Lecce and Bologna; the disappointing performances left the club falling down to the 7th place in the league standings. Juventus President, Andrea Agnelli, called on the head coach for a meeting, giving him the chance to give any valid justification for the poor results.

The outfit has recorded an approximate 40 million Euro loss for the first half of the season and this news left the President furious. Despite all the bad news, the Old Lady’s president, Andrea Agnelli, decided to give Del Neri a chance to prove himself. Del Neri was given the vote of confidence and now the tactician can keep his position till the end of the term.

Juve now falling down to the 7th spot are going to have a tough time trying to find the qualification for next year’s Champions League. The Old Lady plays their next fixture at home against AC Milan, the current league leaders. It will be a tough competition as Milan has been a quality team and would be looking forward for another victory following their yesterdays win over Napoli. The Old Lady being the hosts approach the match with hopes to earn points but there are serious doubts about the team after their recent poor run.
