Future champs ends their race at Aviva English Schools Cross Country

Aviva English Schools Cross Country championship at England held on Sunday 19 March. The venue of the event was Wollaton Park, Nottingham. Wollaton Hall and Deer Park is supposed to be one of the best Elizabethan mansions placed at the neighborhood of Camellia House. The meet was under England inter school national event.

More than two thousand students of 45 schools from all over the England were participated to make the race successful.

The event started at the right time of 10:15 and the first race of intermediate girls for 4.1 kilometres fire away at 12:30. The rivals were Jessica Judd, Abbie Hetheringtin, Alice Wright, Amy Griffiths, Emily Smith, Loren Bleaken, Susan Shiel. Among them the remarkable performers were Alice Wright who ranked 4th last year in the same meet and Susan Shiel, she was 5th previous year. Jessica Judd was hot favourite contest of the spectators.

The result of this year is:

The winner of Intermediate women was Jessica Judd, she clocked 12.17 and stood first. Alice Wright was just behind Jessica but could not compete her and ranked second by 15:51 seconds. With the difference of 0.9 seconds Abbie Hetherington finished up at 13:00.

The next race was of 4100 metres for junior boys. They lined up and started off at 1:00 local time. The name of few contestants those participated were Tom Holden, Jack Crabtee, Tom Newnham, Paulos Asgodom, Robin O' Connor, Merhawi Yemane, Jirenda Singh. But the one who finished it off first was Tom Holden. He clocked 13:38 seconds. Paulos Asgodom ended up at 13.44 and the third triumphant was of Jack Crabtree who clocked 13.50 to get in the topers.

At sharp 1:28pm junior girls taken off for 3.5 kilometres. The contestant those were running fast and were in front was Becca Croft, Bronwen Owen, Katie Shiel- Rankin, Mari Smith, and Georgia Tuckfield whereas at the end of the race the winner was Bronwen Owen. She clocked 12.28 seconds and Katie Shiels-Rankin ended up at the time span of 12.36. The third winner was Becca Croft after running as fast as to end up at 12.39 seconds.

The stunning competition of inter boys started up at 1:58. At start leading participants were Nick jones, James McMurray, Jonathan Davies, Thomas Baines, James lamswood. Later on the result showed that the winner was James McMurray who tried hard to come first by 17.40 seconds and the time span of Matthew Shirling was 17.42 seconds who gave a very tough time to McMurray. The third one was Jonathan Davies after clocking 17.44 seconds. The trio had a very shoulder to shoulder competition. Till the last moment no one was sure that who will win.

In senior girls race the winner was Jenny Walsh by clinching at 14.37, second was Iona Lake with the time of 14.45 and third was Charlotte Taylor who clocked 14.55 seconds.

Last race was set off at 3:04 pm, of senior boys. Their winners were Kieran Clements by 20.50. The second follower was Harvey Dixon after clocking 20.54 and the rival Joshua Grace smashed the time 20.57 for the third rank.

The complete event shut down at 6:30 pm the same day. The spectators were very encouraging those supported the young athletes and champions of future.
