According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago is surplus to requirement at Bernabeu and is expected to link up with Premier League side. They report mentions that Mersey-side rivals Liverpool and Everton are in a tug-of-war to acquire the services of versatile, who can play anywhere in midfield and has a superb left-foot. Harry Redknapp at Tottenham Hotspur is also keeping a watchful eye on the proceedings and

The Argentine international has dropped down the packing order since the arrival of German duo Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil and even Frenchman Karim Benzema and will reportedly be sold to anyone of above mentioned clubs. Real Madrid has put a £10 million price tag on the player.

Jose Mourinho has host of midfield player to choose from and 24-year-old midfielder has failed to impress the Portuguese coach so far, as a result the player is seeking a fresh challenge and is all set to leave the Real at the end of the season.

Liverpool were rumored to be considering an approach for Gago during the January transfer window, but since then, both David Moyes and Harry Redknapp have joined the former Boca Juniors star’s list of admirers. 

Meanwhile, according to another transfer rumor Liverpool are interested in signing Barcelona player Jeffren as reports suggest that the Venezuelan-born Spaniard is lookout for a club after failing to hold a regular place in Barca squad.
He has over a year left on his contract and is reluctant to sign a new deal; the winger is frustrated at lack of first team opportunities. Barcelona values the player at £ 9 million but will do a deal in the region of £ 7 million for a player who has just over a year remaining on his contract.

"It's not easy to succeed in Barcelona, but it's my dream.” conceded the 23 year old.

Liverpool manager is seeking to rebuild his squad with fresh talent and has been linked with a quite a few players in recent weeks. It is believed that Kenny will retain his roll as manger on a permanent basis.
