Federer and Djokovic; through to the second round in Dubai: The Serbian number one tennis star, Novak Djokovic and the former world number one Swiss legend Roger Federer have successfully entered into the second round of the Dubai ATP 500 tennis event, after thrashing their opponents in their first round matches.

In their first round matches the former world number two Novak Djokovic cruised past his French rival Michael Llodra by 6-3 and 6-3, whereas the Swiss tennis giant Roger Federer hammered his Indian tennis rival Somdev Devvarman by 6-3 and 6-3. Now Djokovic will meet the current world number forty one Feliciano Lopez in his second round match. The Aussie Open winner Novak Djokovic is in fine form these days and he has shown his class in a pretty blunt way against the Frenchman Llodra. In the match the Serb seemed total in control and the current world number twenty two Llodra caused no trouble for Novak. On the other hand the French seemed to have lost his focus and made a lot of unforced errors.

Djokovic kept dominating the court from the start of the match and broke Llodra in the beginning of the first set to snatch the lead of 3-2.  Later Michael showed some bleak efforts and made a backhand error to give an easy chance to Novak. The Serb clinched another break point and later sealed the victory of the first set.

He said that he was hoping for a good performance and he is happy that he has played well after returning to the court from a long vacation.

The Serbian veteran also said that he is currently working hard to improve his serving capacity. He continued that it is very important to put some variety in the game and he is hopeful to improve his playing abilities.

On the other side the sixteen times Grand Slam winner proved to be a bit too good for the current world number seventy nine Somdev Devvarman. Although the former world champ Federer should some errors in his game but the Indian proved to be a convincing rival for the Swiss.

The twenty nine years old Federer saved two break points in the game and dominated the court with his relentless serves. After the match Federer told the media that he has not underestimated Devvarman because he has played some of the toughest matches in the early rounds of this competition before in his career.

When Federer was asked whether he is feeling fit to give his best after his return from a long vacation, the current world number two said that it was important for him to take some rest as the schedule of the tennis season is very busy. He continued that he is feeling a lot more fresh and excited to play in Dubai as it is one of his most favourite tournaments.

In other important matches of the tournament, the twenty five years old Serbian Viktor Troiki suffered a crushing defeat from current world number thirty five German Philipp Kohlschreiber. The tennis ace from Cyprus Marcos Baghdatis had to retire from the match due to sickness and gifted the victory to his rival Andrey Golubev.

The tournament has entered into a more exciting phase. Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are in perfect form to win the title. Now who will be able to clutch the trophy, we will have to wait for the time.
