Cricket Australia will consider Herschelle Gibbs if he does well in T20 contests: Hudson

The right-handed South African star top-order batsman, Herschelle Gibbs may come back in the national team if he performs well in the Twenty20 competitions in Sri Lanka and South Africa.

While talking to media, South African selection convenor Andrew Hudson told that this is not any problem, where Gibbs played, the main thing is that what kind of cricket he played and Cricket South Africa will surely consider him if he plays well.

"But if a South African plays county cricket, in Australia, in the Indian Premier League or in other competitions, he certainly has a chance. We will consider everyone regardless of where they play," Hudson quoted.

Gibbs’s recent relationship with the CSA was not ensuring that he is going to make comeback in the national squad in near future.

It was revealed that Gibbs was drunk and then he accused that some South African players are having sexual relationship. In the above issues, if Gibbs makes comeback it would be his 2nd new life of cricket.

However while talking to media, the 37-years-old player told that he would love to represent his country if he got the chance.

"It’s never left the body, the desire to play for the Proteas. I would love to be offered the opportunity to play for my country again, and the team does need to find someone to open the batting permanently. But I understand that would mean I would need to score heaps and heaps of runs," Gibbs commented.

Gibbs made his Test debut against India at Kolkata in 1996. He has played 90 Test matches scoring 6167 runs including highest score of 228 runs with a brilliant average of 41.95. He has scored 14 hundreds and 26 half-centuries so far in Test cricket.

The player has played 248 One-Day-International matches scoring 8094 runs setting his average at 36.13. The player made his ODI debut against Kenya at Nairobi in 1996. He has scored 21 centuries and 37 half-centuries including 175 runs as his highest runs.

The player is very famous in International cricket as he played his career highest scoring innings against Australia while chasing down the target of 434 runs. However Gibbs is lucky to have a chance to make a roaring comeback in the national squad.
