Christiano Ronaldo’s Injury slashing hopes of Real Madrid for the Season

With season entering the crucial stage for Real Madrid, Christiano Ronaldo’s injury could prove to be detrimental for the club. Currently fighting for all three trophies, the club’s hopes to end the season on high depends a lot on how the Portuguese carries himself in the days to come. Ronaldo incurred an injury that will keep him out for at least three weeks and it is important to see how that affects the fortunes for Real Madrid.

Madrid started their season on low at all levels because of some of worst performances in the last two seasons. Not only were they not able to win a trophy but they were also thrown out of Champions League in humiliating ways in both the last seasons. With the addition of Jose Mourinho, the Special One as their coach, it was hoped that their fortunes will take a turn and at last they would be able to end their trophy less drought.

Madrid and Christiano Ronaldo started the third week of the season on high. They were able to show some very good performances in the league and the magic of Mourinho was already showing its signs in the field and out of the field. Ronaldo’s feet were better in the field and goals were coming in every game. All the efforts and hopes took a devastating turn, when they played Barcelona in Camp Nou. Not only were they defeated significantly, the team was humiliated and outplayed by Catalans. This made its worse impact on the morale of players and Mourinho, who never incurred such a defeat in his amazing career.

The way Madrid came back from that defeat at the hands of Barcelona is worth mentioning. Not only all their players performed better afterwards, they also started a fight back that truly kept Barcelona on its toes throughout the season. Ronaldo played in almost every match for Madrid scoring 27 goals in La Liga and 7 goals in Copa Del Rey. With Higuain out for the whole season, and Benzema out of form, Ronaldo truly kept things moving for the club. Amongst his goals, there were some very crucial moments of glory that were very well captured by him. Furthermore, his presence motivated the whole team to perform better this season and that kept Madrid in pursuit of all the three trophies.

Ronaldo’s injury could have made things worse for the club but Benzema stood out at the very right time. Immediately scoring crucial goals, helped the team to keep moving in spite of their missing star. Benzema took the role of Ronaldo and till now his performances are making things quite easy for Real Madrid.

Madrid’s season is coming to its peak and they are scheduled to play at least two exciting matches with Barcelona in April. Furthermore they are also playing against Tottenham Hotspurs in Champions League that would definitely not make it easy for them to enter into the semi finals.

Madrid definitely need their star player back in the field and back in form if they have to win anything this season. If they fail to win anything, there is definitely a little hope that Mourinho will stay for the next season and that would add to the misery of one of the greatest football club in the world.

Christiano Ronaldo and Benzema are the two players on whom the hopes of the whole Marid season and fans rest, and it is to be seen how they handle themselves in the days to come.
