Chelsea eye United target Tankovic

Defending champions Chelsea are reportedly eyeing Manchester United target Muamer Tankovic, the 15 year old Swedish midfielder. IFK Norrkoping were in talks with Sir Alex Ferguson’s side when the Blues approached the Swedish club inquiring about the teenager. Serie A outfit are also possible contenders for Tankovic, who plays for the under-16 Swedish team.

Manchester United chase Mario Gotze

English Premier League giants Manchester United have been making enquiries about Mario Gotze, the Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder who can also play as a striker. The 18 year old has been in excellent form for Dortmund, scoring and setting up six goals which gives him an estimated efficiency ratio of a goal or assist every 135 minutes.

Gotze managed to secure a place in the first team this season and has made the most of it, playing excellent football when he isn’t scoring. What he lacks in height (5.61 ft) he more than makes up for in skill and technique, he has an eye for goal and the ability to read the game. Manchester United are ready to spend as much as €15 million on the young German, who is contracted to Dortmund until the end of the 2014 season.

Everton and Villa compete with Inter for Alessandro Matri

Everton and Aston Villa are set to compete with Inter Milan for Alessandro Matri, the Cagliari Calcio striker. The 26 year old has been especially impressive this season; he is a strong player with good aerial ability and a fine finishing technique. With the right club he has the potential of becoming one of the best strikers in Europe, provided he maintains his consistency.

He has previously lacked consistency, but has improved considerably this season for the Serie A outfit. He has scored nine goals in 21 appearances so far and has an estimated efficiency ratio of a goal ever 177 minutes this season. Inter Milan have been monitoring the striker for a while now and are now joined by two Premier League sides, which may damage their chances to sign the player. He is valued at €10-15 million.

Robbie Kean to West Ham United

Out of favor Tottenham striker is reportedly on his way to West Ham United, after the Hammers agreed to pay the Spurs their demanded £6 million for the player. The former Liverpool star might be the perfect signing for West Ham to strengthen their attack during the January transfer window. There is a catch though, West Ham will pay £1 million for the player and cover his weekly wages and only provide the full payment only if the Hammers survive relegation. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has yet to reach a decision, but because of Kean’s lack of playing opportunity, a move seems likely.
