Bayern Munich eager to buy back Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund
The German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich will pay for loaning out their defender Mats Hummels to another Budesliga side Borussia Dortmund. According to a report Hummels transfer to Dortmund included a clause which allows the Bavarians to buy back the defender
for 8 million euros in 2012.
Hummels has made his name just at the age of 22 and has massively helped his side attain the top spot in the Bundesliga. His partnership with his fellow defender Neven Subotic has been limelight of his career. The German international has gained a lot of
confidence since he came to the club on loan in 2008.
Moreover, his performances at the club have been notable so far. Therefore, the 22-year-old centre back was given a chance in the German national team after he appeared in a friendly encounter against Malta in 2010 in Aachen.
Furthermore, the Bayern Munich are now being forced to reconsider their decision of loaning out the defender especially after they have being confined to the 4th spot and the title hopes are already over with the Dortmund 16 points clear of them.
Now, Bayern are keen to get back the defender in their ranks and utilise his skills and abilities after giving him just one game to play while he was at the club. The German, since then has established himself at Borussia and is now regarded as one of the
best defenders in Europe.
Munich would certainly want their defence to be strong enough for the upcoming 2011-12 season for better position to challenge for the title. The Bayern are also looking to sign Domenico Criscito, a left-back-cum-winger, who plays for the Serie A club, Genoa.
Nevertheless, Hummels was present on Saturday when Borussia Dortmund visited Bayern Munich. The centre back, who has made 79 appearances and scored 10 goals since he joined the club, played a key role in inflicting a 3-1 defeat upon his former club. At first,
the defender blocked each and every attack before haunting Bayern by scoring the 3rd goal for his side which sealed the match for the leaders.
Bayern have also produced the likes of Lukas Podolski, Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Toni Kroos. All these German internationals came forward by going through Munich’s youth ranks.
