Athletic Bilbao forward Fernando Llorente may join Manchester United in summers

The Spanish International and Athletic Bilbao forward, Fernando Llorente may land in at Old Trafford during summers as Manchester United is keen to bring in a one more striker at the start of next English Premier League season. According to the latest media reports, Red Devils may come up with a mammoth £34 million bid to snatch the Athletic Bilbao firepower.

Alex Ferguson after remaining reluctant during the January transfer season is now very much interested to further strengthen the forward line in the shape of Llorente. For Manchester United, it will be a one daunting task to grab Llorente from Athletic Bilbao, as Bilbao have already turned down the incredible offer which came from Tottenham Hotspur during the winter transfer season.

But critics believe that for the Spanish Premier League club, Athletic Bilbao, it will be difficult this time to turn down such a mega offer from United and they are expected to delightfully accept a £34 million deal from United.

The 26-year-old has been featuring the La Liga outfitters Athletic Bilbao since 2005, and ever since then he has emerged as one of the most offensive players around with excellent goal striking power. Llornete’s 15 goals in this season, makes him the leading goal scorer of his team. Llorente did remarkably well during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which gave Spain their first ever World Cup title.

The Spanish media reports have revealed that United has been observing and monitoring the striker situation for quite some time now and they have already done their homework to present the deal to Athletic Bilbao management at the end of the season. It is believed that Manchester United are on the verge of losing the Portuguese International Nani, who has demanded an increase in his salary after giving impressive performances for the club. But, as his request has been rejected by the club management, he may also be eyeing up a transfer move to some other club. So, in case United lose Nani, Llorente recruitment will become even more important.

The rumours suggest that Men in Red are not the only club which have shown the interest for the striker, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich may also join the race of recruiting Fernando Llorente to their respective clubs. It is rumoured that Spurs have already tabled a deal of £26 million.

Liverpool remained unsuccessful to recruit him, even, when they came to Spain on the last day of January transfer window to pen a deal with Llotente, but all of their efforts were gone in vain. Llorente claimed that Liverpool were unable to surpass the obligatory £30 million release clause deal present in his contract.
