Athletic Bilbao Manager Joaquin Caparros Compliments Ronaldo for Being the Player of the Future

Joaquin Caparros heaps praises on La Liga star, Christiano Ronaldo by stating that the Portuguese is the prototype for the players of the future.

Athletic Bilbao boss feels that Ronaldo’s killing abilities with the ball and his athletic speed easily makes him the layout for future players.

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on 5th February 1985 in Madeira, Portugal. The Portuguese professional footballer currently plays for the Spanish La Liga club, el Madrid and also the Portuguese national team.The epitome of versatility is deployed as a winger or a forward on the football grounds. He also serves to be the captain of his country’s national team.

Ronaldo started his professional football career by joining the youth ranks of a local club, C.F. Andorinha. He played on the Funchal grounds for almost two years, before making a move to Nacional. In 1997, the mesmerizing player shifted to Sporting Clube de Portugal and continued to outshine all.

Ronaldo quickly rose among the star ranks in Sporting CP and soon became a preeminent figure there. His precocious aptitude for soccer was inevitably recognized by Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United and in 2003, he brought the 18 year old mega star to the English side club for an impressive £12.24 million.

In 2004, Ronaldo honoured his club by winning the first FA Cup and led Portugal to the final match of Euro 2004, netting in his first international goal. The year 2008 proved to be a remarkable one for the Portuguese player. He won a myriad number of accolades with Man Utd, including the Champions League in which he was also named player of the tournament. However, his best accomplishment by far was becoming Man Utd’s first FIFA Ballon d’Or winner after George Best in 1968.

On 26 June 2009, Ronaldo signed a six-year contract with the Real Madrid, worth a record breaking £80 million transfer fee. The transfer deal made him the most expensive player in football arena. Not only that, he became the highest paid footballer by earning a hefty amount of £11 million per annum for six solid years.

Ronaldo is a gem of a player who holds the honour of earning a number of laurels to his name. To a reporter, the current Athletic Bilbao coach stated that albeit Lionel Messi is a great player Barcelona has to offer, but the players of his sort are becoming extinct. It is indeed to Ronaldo, the future looks upon.

He commented: “Whenever there are fewer players in the street, Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the player of the future. He and Messi are the two best players in the world.

“Messi is more talented, but unfortunately, we are running out of Messis. Cristiano is the player of the future: physically powerful, and more complete.”
