“At home Barcelona are the best” says Rayo Vallecano’s Jose Ramon Sandoval – La Liga News

Rayo Vallecano coach Jose Ramon Sandoval has stated that Barcelona are the best team in the world as far as playing at home is concerned. The Rayo Vallecano boss made the statement ahead of his team’s clash with the Spanish champions at Nou Camp on Tuesday.

Sandoval insisted that his team would have to perform at their best against the current Champions League title holders in order to take any points from their trip to Nou Camp. He expressed that playing Barcelona at home would be a very tough job for his team.

While talking at a press conference, the Spanish mentor was quoted as saying:

"Statistics do not have that much in our favor. You have to know that you face the best team in the world in their home. But we are willing to try because we are a bold team.”

The coach further suggested that his team had the ability to take the game to the Catalans and that Rayo Vallecano will go all out to ensure a point at the least from their trip to the Catalonian capital.

"In the world of football no one is invincible and anything can happen. We are left with advantage they lost to Getafe to win against us and they will have to work hard," he said.

"Anyone who knows Ray knows the slogans that have, and you can make tactical variants, but the philosophy and style will be the same. We did not change at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid and neither are we planning to do so at the Camp Nou.”

Sandoval added that he expected that Rayo Vallecano will be able to learn a lot from their trip to Barcelona. He expressed that the team’s performance against the current winners of the Spanish Primera should prove to be a determinant in how well the team is currently performing.

Barcelona’s previous match was against Getafe, which resulted in defeat for the Spanish giants, as they suffered a 1-0 loss away from home. The defeat resulted in the Catalans falling six points behind leaders Real Madrid in the La Liga standings. La Blaugrana are currently second in the league.
