Arena European Diving Championships: Patrick Hausding wins gold in the men’s 3m springboard race
The competitive German diver, Patrick Hausding has won the men’s 3m springboard event on Thursday at the Arena European Diving Championships in Turin, Italy.
He took home the 3m springboard title with a total score of 499.40. Ilya Zakharov of Russia finished second with 493.85, while Evgeny Kuznetsov took the third place with a total score of 482.35.
Due to this emphatic victory, Hausding has successfully been able to retain her 2010 title. He was declared the best diver of the year 2010.
After the race, Hausding said, “My first dive could have been a little better. But after everything went well. You simply have to put your best dives at the end.”
Greatly, Hausding has confirmed his 2nd quote place for the London 2012 Olympics, while the 1st quota place went to Noemi Batki of Italy due to her most blistering diving performance in the women’s 10m platform at the Arena European
Diving Championships in Turin, Italy on Wednesday.
Hausding also represented himself for his country during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He captured the silver medal over there with his teammate Sascha Klein in the men’s synchronised 10m platform.
Meanwhile, the women’s 10m platform synchro title went to Yulia Koltunova alongside her teammate Daria Govor with a total score of 322.26.
Nora Subschinski and Christin Steuer of Germany took home the silver medal with a total score of 317.76, while the Ukraine’s Yulia Prokopchuk and Alina Chaplenko captured the bronze medal with 315.24 points.
After the race, Koltunova said, “This gold medal is more important to me than my silver in the 3m individual event.”
On the other hand, Christin Steuer, the silver medal holder in the women’s 10m platform said that it’s been a huge success for her because should could not really be able to give a proper time to her competitive diving training after her nose injury in February,
In the meantime, the women’s 1m springboard race is going to be held at Friday. However, the Olympian Tania Cagnotto of Italy has high votes to clinch this title this time.
Hopefully, it will be very intriguing and challenging race between Cagnotto and Anna Linberg of Sweden, along with many other competitive divers, such as Katja Dieckow of Germany and Nadezda Bazhina of Russia.
Also, Illya Kvasha of Russia will vie in the men’s 3m springboard synchro race at the Arena European Diving Championships in Turin, Italy on Wednesday.
Many popular divers are expected to be participated in this race, such as Ilya Zakharov- Evgeny of Russia and Patrick Hausing-Stephan Feck of Germany. Kvasha had been the European Diver of the Year 2010.
Still, Russia leads the pole with 2 golds, 2 silver, and one bronze at the Arena European Diving Championships in Turin, Italy.
