  • All Blacks Dan Carter Offered 1.6 Million Dollar a Year Contract by “The Racingmen”

Paris based Racing Métro 92 are without the services of one of their Fly Half Juan Martín Hernández from Argentina after his Knee Ligament Injury. He sustained the injury during the Racing’s encounter against the Bourgoin 38 – 19 during last month.  With him unavailable for the rest of the season Racing Métro 92 has hinted on acquiring the services of All Blacks and Crusaders Fly Half Dan Carter with Jonathan Wisniewski from being the other Fly Half in the team.

Carter’s reputation as the world’s best Fly Half has enabled him to catch the 1.6 million dollar deal with the French Top 14 club. Racing Métro 92 is interested in acquiring the services of the Carter for next three years. The deals give Dan Carter 4.8 million dollars to team up with the 'The Racingmen”.

Carter has remained an integral part of the All Blacks since his debut for them in 2003. However this year Carter is yet to renew his contract for next season. This however can’t be used to let us to conclude that he is eyeing a switch or looking forward to join Racing Métro 92 as  some other All Blacks which include captain Richie McCaw, Liam Messam, Josevata Rokocoko, Jimmy Cowan, Brad Thorn, Cory Jane ,Mils Muliaina, Sonny Bill Williams, and Ma'a Nonu.

If Carter decides to switch this wasn’t the first time he’ll be doing so he already had a stint with Perpignan.  However the nature of the deal was different as he was signed for his services during his Sabbaticals for 30,000 pounds per week. Carter currently holds number of records which includes him being the top scorer in now Super XV history and scoring most points in against any Lions test.  Carter also holds the record of highest point scorer of all time with 1,188 test points that includes only 2 drop goals, 207 penalties, 208 conversions and 29 tries in the 79 tests he has appeared. On average he has scored 15.0 points in each test that he has played which speak of his speed, ball handling and goal kicking skills.

His expected deals would allow him to earn $31,000 a week but wouldn’t definitely become the player with highest earning at Racing Metro 92. Carter 29 has another significant offer from Perpignan standing at 1.1 million dollar offer. Other clubs of Southern Hemisphere such as Toulouse, Bath, Saracens and Northampton were also looking to sign him however it would be next to impossible to match Racing’s offer.

Bath Saracens and Northampton hopes to sign carter were further pinned down after Premiership rugby has refused to raise the salary cap to 5 million pounds or  abolish. For now Dan Carter will be taking the field as Crusaders will be taking on the visiting Bulls during next week of Super XV. Its must watch game with both Carter and Morne Steyn playing in a game is a rarity for now.
